We set off from Batemans Bay bound for Eden… until a sudden weather change forces us to divert into Bermagui. What starts as a detour turns into an unexpected highlight: we meet some huge bull rays right off the wharf, explore the town and cycle out into the country where we stumble into a tiny historic village complete with an cheese factory. Proof once again that the best cruising moments happen when plans fall apart.
