Does the "Soon" Language of Revelation Prove Preterism?

One of the most common arguments for dating the book of Revelation prior to AD 70 comes from a simple reading of the Book of Revelation itself. Revelation has a lot of "soon," "near," and "quickly" language that is said to indicate just a few years. For example, Revelation 1:1 says these things "must soon take place." Similarly, Revelation 1:3 says, "the time is near." Revelation 2:16 says, "I am coming to you quickly" (cf. Rev 3:11; 11:14; 16:15). Is this kind of language proof that Revelation had to have been fulfilled in AD 70?
