The Milwaukee Road In Kittitas County part 2

Traveling in a speeder from Kittitas to Beverly and back, you'll experience a section man's view of the Milwaukee Road over the Saddle Mountains in 1953. Observe everyday life that evolves around the Ellensburg Depot, including repainting the depot and pulling up the original wooden platform. Catch a glimpse of Cle Elum and Hyak and witness the last passenger train and its final stop in the Kittitas Valley. This is the Milwaukee Road in Kittitas County.

Edward Emanuel shot the film used in this movie while he was an Agent at Ellensburg WA. Mr. Emanuel gave the film to me during the summer of the 2006 when preparations for the Heritage Centers Railroad Exhibit of 2006 were underway. When I received the film, a good portion of the film was out of sequence and had to be put back in chronological order. Once the film was put back in order captions were created using information provided by Mr. Emanuel. The film was created for a special showing during the 2006 Ellensburg Rodeo/Fair. The Heritage Center's role for the 2006 event was to display the countys railroad history. This film was one of many different vintage railroad items on display from both the Milwaukee Road and Northern Pacific. I hope everyone enjoys the film!
