1. Pad
The Pad command is the most basic tool for adding material.
Action: It extrudes (pulls) a 2D sketch into a 3D solid.
Typical Use: Creating the main body of a part, like turning a circle into a cylinder.
2. Pocket
The Pocket command is the most basic tool for removing material.
Action: It cuts a shape into an existing solid based on a 2D sketch.
Typical Use: Creating holes, slots, or recesses in your part.
3. Thickness
The Thickness command (often called "Shelling" in other CAD software) turns a solid object into a hollow shell.
Action: You select one or more faces to remove (the "opening"), and the tool gives the remaining walls a uniform thickness.
Typical Use: Turning a solid block into a container, a box, or a pipe.
