What to do on New Year’s Day in Tokyo. Exploring Team Labs, Shibuya, Sushi and the onsen

Today was New Year’s Day in Tokyo. We knew from research that a lot of places would be closed and the shrines would be busy so we wanted to do something different.
We settled on Teamlabs planets which was amazing, we spent around 2-3 hours exploring in total and it was so immersive. Our favourite was the hanging flowers closely followed by the lights and the fish water.
We then headed into central Tokyo and Don quijote, this was absolutely crazy again but we managed to get a new suitcase and some Kitkats before heading to @KuraSushi Kura sushi, this was our 3rd Kura in 3 different cities (Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto) and it didn’t disappoint. It’s such great food and great value for money.
We then headed back to the hotel to do our laundry and use the onsen before we started the fun job of packing.
