Railway 200 takes place this year. In the very first episode of ‘200 Years of Britain’s Railways’, Riku Fryderyk explores the fascinating story of the birth of steam- from the first locomotives, to the first railways, to the chaos and drama of Victorian rail development, and the many pioneering feats of engineering.

Filmed over five months, guided by the knowledge of author Ian Marchant, Riku looks between the lines of history, discovering the incredible societal changes that the railways provoked, and what the history books forget to tell you, to finally understand how it all began.
