In EcolClips we document and explain ecological theories, landmark experiments and classic ecology themes by scientists in all ecological disciplines.

Decreasing population size due to habitat loss and fragmentation leads to lower genetic variation. Conservation genomics describes genetic variation within and among populations and identifies the processes influencing this. These genomic data can be applied to minimize the risk of inbreeding depression and increase evolutionary capacity, and therefore improve the conservation of biodiversity in a changing world.
Prof. Adam Stow from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, is an expert in conservation genomics. In his work, he links genomic and environmental data to address research questions in conservation management, ecology, and evolution. He leads numerous conservation projects, such as studying the population dynamics of grey nurse sharks and Australian sea lions, and is passionate about education and scientific communication.
