No subtitles as I don't have much to say sorry.
There is a cut in the footage as I redid a somewhat lengthy section after I got a game over.
This game has a bit of... I guess controversy behind it? If that's the right word. Translations of this game were forbidden for a long time because of... some reason?
And even now it's still a bit of a weird process since you have to download the original game and then a language patch. (Usually, you can just download the game translated out of the box.) ((It's not too big of a deal but worth mentioning.))
I remember reading that even vgperson wanted to translate this game and couldn't since the creator had forbidden it at the time.
There was a patch before this officially approved one and I did play that... But thought about replaying it since it had been a good while and there's an officially approved translation now.
Thought about mentioning that since honestly it's one of the more noteworthy things about this game. (Controversy(?) tends to be noteworthy. Nothing you can do about that.)
This one's described as a "soft horror" so it's not really about spookiness more than the atmosphere.
I like the art. The pixel art is really nice and I guess the portrait art is too. It's not exactly to my taste but it's nice. High quality.
I did use a walkthrough for this since multiple endings are scary and I hate the RPG Maker Horror thing where simple things can lock you out of a good ending. Here it's basically "Are you rude or not" and if you are you only get the worst ending (3).
It's Mother Goose-themed with nursery rhymes sprinkled in. It's neat even though my experience with nursery rhymes is minimal (at least the English ones, not a native speaker) but I don't think there are many games that take that sort of theme. So it's unique. I think.
The story to me is nothing too special. It works fine. I remembered the twists from my playthrough years ago so I cannot act shocked about them. I don't think there's anything too bad???
The puzzles are also fine. I didn't get them but that's because my brain is very small. I tried to but then I just looked at my walkthrough. Some things do feel cheap (the hands which I died to) but eh. My mistake.
I don't have much to talk about so I'm ending it here. Neat game.
It's weird you unlock the dash only after getting an ending. Good thing I looked at both END 1 and 2 so that I wouldn't be slow all the time. But whatever. I'm tired. It's 5 in the morning. I just wanted to show off a game that isn't too well-known like all of my other videos.
