NKONYA BASICS 1 || ABSOLUTE BASICS OF THE NKONYA LANGUAGE

Nkonya is a Ga-Akan related Guan Language spoken in the Oti Region of Ghana. It is spoken just few minutes after Hohoe, in the Biakoye district also the Guan district in the Oti Region.

Nkonya, although a Ga-Akan related Guan Language, which are mainly in Southern Ghana, is the Oti representative of that sub-family. They are an extension of the Anum-Boso Guans who moved from Anum-Boso to settle at modern day Nkonya.

Nkonya is most closely related to Anum-Boso, Larteh, Owutu, Kyripon, Ntsumburun, Gonja, Krachi, Gitsode.
Nkonya has communities like Ntsumuru, Ntumada, Tayi, Ahenkro and many more.

In this lesson, we study the basics of the Nkonya Language. This lesson was made possible with the assistance of Emmanuel Biggah, a native of Nkonya-Ntsumuru.

The Nkonya Language is most closely related to Efutu, Larteh, Ntsumburun and Kyripon so, one can refer to the above mentioned languages to grasp the lessons the more.
