Dan Domenech: Every Rose Has Its Thorn

Dan Domenech is an American actor, best known for his understudy portrayal of Jason Dean in "Heathers: The Musical", Drew in the Broadway musical "Rock of Ages", and a recurring guest appearance on the television series "Glee" (FOX). Domenech has also appeared in the pre-Broadway runs of "Wonderland" and "Sister Act". National and international tours include "Rent" and "Rock of Ages". In 2012, he performed in the Disney Theatrical Productions workshop of "Aladdin".

When not on tour, Domenech lives in New York City. He has been involved with several non-profit organizations, including anti-child trafficking organization Love146, and Lollipop Theater Network — which brings current movies and entertainment to hospitalized children nationwide.

On January 24, 2018, as part of the "Broadway at The Pierre" cabaret series in association with Broadway Sings for Pride, a concert was held at Two E Bar/Lounge — the sophisticated saloon located inside the New York City luxury hotel, The Pierre. The concert featured a performance by Domenech, backed by pianist and musical director Chris Curcio.

Domenech performed the song "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" during the concert, where Shefik served as Videographer. "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" is a power ballad by American glam metal band Poison. It was released in October 1988 as the third single from Poison's second album "Open Up and Say... Ahh!". The band's signature song, it is also their only number-one hit in the United States, reaching the top spot on December 24, 1988, for three weeks. It also charted at number 11 on the Mainstream Rock chart. It was a number 13 hit in the United Kingdom. "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" was named number 34 on VH1's "100 Greatest Songs of the 80s", number 100 on their "100 Greatest Love Songs", and number seven on MTV and VH1 "Top 25 Power Ballads". Billboard ranked the song number five on their list of "The 10 Best Poison Songs".

In an interview with VH1's "Behind the Music", frontman Bret Michaels said the inspiration for the song came from a night when he was in a laundromat in Dallas waiting for his clothes to dry, and called his girlfriend on a pay phone. Michaels said he heard a male voice in the background and was devastated. He said he went into the laundromat and wrote "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" as a result.
