According to the Jharkhand Academic Council, female students and students from the SC, ST, BC-1, and BC-2 categories will have to pay ₹980 for Matriculation. For General and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) students, this fee has been fixed at ₹1180. Private students will also have to pay ₹1180. Students in all these categories will have to pay an additional ₹500 as a late fee.

For Intermediate, female students and students from the SC, ST, BC-1, and BC-2 categories will have to pay ₹1100, while for General and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) students, the fee has been fixed at ₹1400. Private students will have to pay ₹1,400 to apply. Furthermore, JAC has also made similar increases in fees for students appearing for re-examinations and those appearing to improve their results.

JAC Chairman Natwa Hansda stated that examination fees had not been increased in recent years. Inflation has risen during this period. Consequently, the decision to increase examination fees was made. Special care was taken to ensure that students are not burdened financially.

Education experts believe that this fee hike will put additional pressure on students, especially those from rural and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Many parents have also expressed deep dissatisfaction with this increased fee, calling it detrimental to students' interests.
