People are only beginning to understand why healthcare is so expensive. In India more than 2/3rd of the Healthcare costs are borne out-of-pocket. But is it always so expensive and what is the Doctor's role in increasing your medical bills? Why do doctors order so many expensive Blood tests? Is it for a fancy commission? Healthcare is expensive and it is for a reason and that is that a Doctor's diagnosis is of utmost importance and for that we need your blood report to prove or refute the diagnosis. There are many biochemical & physiological reactions going on inside your body that warrant us to do your blood tests and yes! These tests are sometimes expensive. The goal of this video is not to justify the expenses since I don't run a laboratory, but to explain from a Doctor's point of view as to why we need tests to diagnose you. I highlight 3 reason why Doctors order these seemingly unnecessary blood tests so that next time you have more trust on your Doctor. I also share on how you can save extra cash!
