With a trial traffic ban proposed for Dublin city centre, opinions varied on how best to tackle congestion. Some supported restrictions on private cars to improve public transport, while others called for better roads and stricter parking enforcement. Ideas ranged from rerouting buses and peripheral parking to colour-coded exit times for motorists. There was consensus, however, that any such trial needed careful planning and public support to succeed. (Broadcast on 14 January 1971.)
