this was an assignment from "intro to film production 2" for my college film program (mason gross rutgers)
our professor assigned us random screenplays and grouped into pairs or in my cause a group of 3. we would shoot our partners while they direct and vise versa.
the scripts were assigned random and we were supposed to come up with our own adaptations, like we've never seen the movie. our professor didnt even give us the movie names, just the script.
I interpreted this scene as Tracy, a now single mom feels extremely guilty for cheating on her son's father. So it's really emotional when they have a heart to heart because she's nervous to ask about his father because it's her fault and she feels like she has no right, but her son is a sweetheart to her who wants to be like her. That heart to heart gets interrupted by the guy she had the affair with who she now resents because of how it affects her sons life and now her own guilt. Robbie obviously despises this guy.
Haven't seen the full Crazy Stupid Love movie, but I will watch it pretty soon to compare!
