Today I’m reacting to MASH Season 1 Episode 4 — “Chief Surgeon Who?”, and this one wastes no time stirring up tension at the 4077th.
In this episode, the Army names Hawkeye as Chief Surgeon, and suddenly egos, protocol, and military structure all go flying out the window. You can feel the frustration from Frank, the confusion from Henry, and Hawkeye doing what Hawkeye does best — annoy everybody while saving lives anyway.
