I am rebuilding my 1967 Porsche 912 motor which is a 1976 Porsche 912E motor without the fuel injection (running dual Weber 40 carbs). The engine design is basically a VW Type 4 motor that was used in the Porsche 914 and VW Buses.
In order to test run the motor after the rebuild I needed an adapter plate to bolt to the motor which would allow me to then bolt up my starter and thus test run the motor without putting it back into the car.
I found an old VW transaxle online that was locked up, perfect! All I needed was the 1/2 outer mounting flange to make my run test stand work.
Follow along if you need a cheap and quick way to test run your Porsche or VW motors after a rebuild.
