Swami Vivekananda’s powerful declaration- “Weakness is sin” - finds living expression in the life and teachings of Bhagavan, who embodied simplicity, fearlessness, and uncompromising truth. Rooted in the Upaniṣadic call “Abhīḥ” (Be fearless), this discourse explores Bhagavan’s deep concern for devotees who understood Vedānta intellectually yet failed to establish truth within their own homes due to inner weakness.

Bhagavan did not seek personal reverence; what pained him was the neglect of Vedānta and divine truth by those closest to his devotees. Observing that lofty spiritual ideas were spoken outside but not lived or communicated within the family, Bhagavan called for courage- not merely to know truth, but to live it fully. On 7th September, he urged devotees to stand firmly in truth, even if it demanded sacrifice, and to apply Vedānta in real life rather than keeping it confined to words.

The discourse further unfolds Bhagavan’s own inner state, as recorded in his diary on 9th September, revealing the vision of a realized being established in the Self. From the standpoint of Ajātavāda and the amanī (thought-free) mind, action no longer arises from personal desire but flows naturally for the welfare of others. Though the body continues to act, the realized one performs no action for oneself- every deed becomes selfless service.

Bhagavan finally points to the divine truth that God, embodied in human form, dwells within all beings, silently guiding every life toward Truth—like Krishna, the universal charioteer of all hearts. This teaching is a call to fearless living, inner integrity, and the courage to transform knowledge into lived wisdom.
