Text: Latin responsory from Matins for Christmas
Born in England in 1952, Paul Halley came with his family to Ottawa and sang in the choir of St. Matthew’s Church, Ottawa. As a teenager, he won an organ scholarship to Trinity College, Cambridge. From 1987 to 1999, he was Director of Music at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City. During those years, he became a member of the Paul Winter Consort, with whom he created the Missa Gaia/Earth Mass and earned fi ve Grammy Awards. He is currently Director of Music at both the University of King’s College and All Saints Cathedral in Halifax.
