Welcome to our video featuring Abbey Wooldridge and Colin Reilly as they present the Turning 6 research project—a vital follow-up study exploring the long-term outcomes of children diagnosed with epilepsy in their first year of life. This project builds on the earlier EPIPEG study and is helping to uncover how early-onset epilepsy affects children’s development, education, and quality of life as they reach six years old.
In this video, Abbey and Colin explain how the study is using clinical assessments, neurodevelopmental evaluations, and genetic and imaging data to identify predictors of outcome. Their work is paving the way for earlier interventions and more personalised support for children and families affected by epilepsy.
Important Note: The Turning 6 project is a research study and not a clinical service. Its findings are intended to inform future treatment pathways and improve long-term outcomes for young people with epilepsy.
Join us as we explore how this research could transform the lives of children with early-onset epilepsy. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more updates on epilepsy research and other exciting projects from Young Epilepsy.
