How to make Treacle Tart - baking for beginners
Welcome to our first pastry lesson, today we are learning a treacle tart recipe so we start by making sweet paste and then turn it into a classic treacle tart. Very easy to make but an excellent dessert that can be served in a restaurant, at a dinner party or just on any weeknight at home. This just so happens to be Harry Potter's favourite dessert!

Recipe:
metric:
Sweet paste - 15 minutes at 180c
250g of unsalted butter
175g of caster sugar
2 eggs
400g of plain flour
1 pinch of salt
Treacle Filling - 30 minutes at 150c
600g golden syrup
150g fresh breadcrumbs
½ tsp ground ginger
1 lemon zest and juice
1 tbsp black treacle
3 eggs
1 tbsp vanilla extract
Cups:
Sweet paste - 15 minutes at 375f
2 sticks plus 1 tbsp unsalted butter
1⅓ cups plus 2 tbsp caster sugarn
2 eggs
3⅓ cups plain flour
1 pinch salt
Treacle Filling - 30 minutes at 300f
1 lb 5 oz golden syrup
3⅓ cups fresh breadcrumbs
½ tsp ground ginger
1 lemon zest and juice
1 tbsp black treacle
3 eggs
1 tbsp vanilla extract
