Recording horse and horse bell sounds on a Tibetan ranch.
Sound Terminus was invited by the Liang County Tourist Board to record the everyday cultural sounds of Litang County, Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. Colin Siyuan Chinnery went to Litang in July 2019, where he traveled throughout the region and recorded as much as he could in the time available. The sound recordings were then made available to the public at a small museum called the Litang Himalayas Sound Museum, as a substation of Sound Terminus. This project is ongoing.
The two sons of Tenzin's friend who owns this beautiful and massive ranch, helped to select and ride and horses for the recording of the sound of both normal galloping horses and 'walking' horses, who walk very fast rather than run.
