The U.S. Mission to Pakistan officially inaugurated its Freedom 250 Liberty Bell initiative, themed “Let Freedom Ring,” with a ceremony at Lincoln Corner. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker unveiled a full-sized replica of the iconic Liberty Bell, marking the launch of events commemorating the 250th anniversary of American independence and celebrating the enduring role of diplomacy in shaping global progress.
The Liberty Bell, originally cast in 1752 and housed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a timeless symbol of American freedom, justice, and equality, historically associated with the American Revolution and the signing of the U.S. Constitution. CDA Baker highlighted its legacy, including its symbolic connection to pivotal milestones such as the abolition of slavery, and emphasized its resonance with the values promoted at Lincoln Corners in Pakistan.
As part of the initiative, 15 Liberty Bell replicas will be distributed across Lincoln Corners nationwide. Local artists and student volunteers will paint the bells reflecting the theme “What Freedom Means to Me.” These creative expressions will be showcased during U.S. Independence Day celebrations in Pakistan and featured in a commemorative video by the U.S. Embassy, amplifying the voices and talents of Pakistani youth.
