In this video, we solve the mystery of the missing condiment. In Victorian times, condiment trays had five positions for vinegar, oil, salt, pepper, and a fifth position for an unknown condiment. This problem is sometimes referred to as the third condiment mystery or the third shaker mystery. The latter is a bit of a misnomer, as this container normally had a lid with a slot for a small spoon.
