For those of you who are still trying, I recommend utilizing Rathian and Mizutsune (they do a lot of damage to Magnamalo). This is the first time I have defeated Magnamalo and I did it with hunting horn. I have failed 40 times before this (29 tries with Long Sword and 11 with Hunting Horn).
