Award winning fine artist Judy Lavoie explores the wide versatility of a unique painting surface called Claybord, showing how many different media can be used to create stunning realistic and abstract paintings and drawings.

For this video, Judy challenges herself to create nine paintings with nine different media, each on a 3.5" square Claybord Art Tile. For her subject, she creates nine portraits of her cute tabby cat Jethro, depicting him in many poses and incorporating an assortment of art styles. Her media includes watercolor, acrylics, Scratchbord inks, sumi ink, colored pencils, colored markers, and graphite. She made her ninth Claybord portrait with a humorous photo image transfer, creating "Jethro's Selfie."

This presentation also introduces the extraordinary work of other artists creating art on Claybord in media such as alcohol inks, oil and egg tempera, and using a myriad of techniques, like pouring and airbrush. Judy presents fun projects she's done on small Claybord Art Tiles, including Artist Trading Cards, ornaments, and jewelry. See samples of her art on Claybord, Aquabord, and Scratchbord, too.
