The Only Hike You Should Do In Cloudland Canyon State Park

On a short weekend trip RV camping in Cloudland Canyon State Park, we were pressed for time on what we should do to see the most of the canyon in only a few hours. After discovering the West Rim Trail, the choice was easy. This 5 mile, 702ft elevation gain hike provides an amazing overview of this beautiful Georgia state park. Starting at the east rim, it slowly descends from the main viewpoints down into the canyon, crossing over the Sitton Gulch creek which carves the valley. Passing by lush green vegetation, you climb over to the west rim where the views become incredible, before looping through a young forest, out to the mouth of the canyon for a unique view, before making its way back to the main area. Cloudland Canyon camping was amazing, and we can't wait to return for more!
