In this episode, I head deep into the coastal forests of Vancouver Island in search of one of British Columbia’s most elusive upland birds — the Band-Tailed Pigeon. Armed with my 12-gauge Browning BPS, I hike through the misty evergreens, listening for wingbeats and watching the treetops for movement. Along the way, I also keep an eye out for Ruffed and Sooty Grouse, hoping to add a few more wild meals to the freezer. From the forest floor to the canopy, this hunt captures the rhythm of the coastal woods and the challenge of pursuing wild game in one of the most beautiful corners of Canada.
