This is one of the biggest updates in more than 10 years, and it will be implemented from the academic session 2026–27. The new syllabus is designed to make pharmacy students more industry-ready, research-oriented, and globally competitive.


🔹 Why the Syllabus Changed?
The last revision was done in 2014. Since then, pharmacy and healthcare have advanced a lot. New medicines, digital health, biotechnology, and artificial intelligence are now part of modern pharmacy. To match these changes and to align with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), PCI has completely redesigned the B.Pharm curriculum.


🔹 Key Highlights of the New Syllabus
Credit-Based System (CBCS) – The new program has 191 credits across 8 semesters, giving more balance between core subjects, electives, and practical training.

Multiple Entry and Exit Options –
Exit after 2 years → Diploma in Pharmacy Sciences
Exit after 3 years → Advanced Diploma
Complete 4 years → Full B.Pharm Degree
Specialization Tracks from 5th Semester –
Industrial Pharmacy (manufacturing, R&D, regulatory)
Clinical Pharmacy (hospital pharmacy, patient care, pharmacovigilance)

Internships & Research Projects –
2 mandatory internships (Industry + Clinical/Community Pharmacy)
A two-semester-long research project for innovation and scientific exposure
Technology Integration – Subjects like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Blockchain, Robotic Pharmacy, and Digital Health are included to prepare students for the future.
Electives & Online Courses – Students can choose electives and even earn credits through MOOCs (online courses).
Soft Skills & Personality Development – Focus on communication, entrepreneurship, pharmaceutical management, ethics, and public health.
