How can you tell if a parrot is going to bite? What kind of body language should you look out for as a warning sign that a parrot is going to bite? This video discusses my take on parrot body language and warnings.

When it comes to biting body language, simple answer is it doesn't matter! I don't care about what aggressive, defensive, or biting body language looks like! By following the stop biting approach of keep your hands to yourself and then use positive reinforcement to teach the hands-on behavior you desire you will bypass the biting body language entirely. You do not need to know how to read that biting body language and better yet you will not evoke biting body language or bad feelings toward you in the first place.

Here's the thing, even if the bird doesn't get a chance to bite you, once it is giving off biting signs, the bird is already having averse feelings toward you. When the bird has a habit of feeling scared or aggressive toward you, it is only a matter of time until it sinks a real bite! This is why it is far better to learn to entirely avoid creating situations that make the bird feel this way than trying to read the body language and save yourself a bite in the short term.
