熊本上江津湖，當地市民度周日的好去處

江津湖由上江津湖和下江津湖兩個相連的湖組成。交通繁忙的迂迴公路、火車道就在旁邊。水量豐富使得其周圍生長著很多珍稀植物和野鳥，在此可以實實在在的感受到「水之都熊本市」。而代表性的植物，有江戶時代細川藩作為貢品進貢給幕府、現在瀕臨滅絕的「水前寺海苔」，還有僅生長於江津湖附近、同樣瀕臨滅絕的水草「姬貝鷗（HIMEBAIKAMO）」等也非常有名。而代表性的野鳥是「川蟬」，熊本市鳥「四十雀」，鷺類，YUKERA，秧雞類的鷭等。同時，冬天海鷗類也會飛來。周圍有圖書館、體育館、動植物園等，適合散步或者慢跑，也是市民們休息的場所。

Lake Ezu is actually made up of two smaller lakes, Kami-Ezu and Shimo-Ezu, that combine to a length of 2.5 kilometers, a perimeter of 6 kilometers, and a total surface area of approximately 50 hectares. The springs that replenish the lake pump out an average of 40,000 tons of fresh water each day. Even though Lake Ezu is bounded on two sides by busy Densha Dori and even busier Route 57, the area around the lake is subdued and relaxing, making it a popular place for a quiet jog or afternoon picnic. Lake Ezu is also an excellent place to cool down during Kumamoto's sweltering summer months.
