Beginner Friendly Quilt Block

If you have been wanting to start quilting, but don’t know where to start, here is a simple block for you to start with.

This block is called the hourglass and it’s super simple to make. This block is generally made with 2 fabrics but I wanted to use 4 different fabrics, so I used 2 lighter fabrics and 2 that were darker.

First you make half square triangles, then you make those into quarter square triangles. Half square triangles are some of my favorite blocks to make!

I wanted a finished 10” block. So I started with 4, 11” fabric squares.
