Kazakhstan performs at Moscow International Military Music festival Spasskaya Tower 2015

The Republican Guard was created in 1992 and in April 2014 after the reform of the Armed Forces was modified in State Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This military unit insures some special missions such as protocolary governmental events. As for the ceremonies, they are insured by the Honor Guard. There are for types of uniforms that were created especially for the Guard; all of them have national elements. On especially solemn occasions it is cyan for the guards and white for the officers.

The Guard of Honor is commanded by senior lieutenant Khasen Omarkhanov. The unit he heads insures state protocolary events and the change of the Guard of Honor that takes places since 2001.

The Presidential band includes: wind section, company of chamber music, song and dance companies. The repertory consists of anthems of almost all countries of the world, marches, pop music, classical pieces of foreign and Kazakh composers.

Since 2007 the director of the Presidential Band of the State Security Service is colonel Talgat Berdigulov. He began his career as student and then musician of the brass-band of the military Institute named after I. Konev in Almaty. In 1999 he graduated from the State Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory where he studied at the faculty of military conducting. In 2007 he became the chief conductor of the Band of the State Security Service. Talgat Berdigulov is winner of the Republican and International competitions and author of some compositions.
