Leuca è un nome che deriva dal greco λευκός (leukós), cioè "bianco", per via delle rocce bianche che scendono a picco sul Mar Ionio (erroneamente si pensa che Punta Meliso divida lo Ionio dall'Adriatico, l'incontro in realtà avviene ad Otranto).
In questo primo volo visiteremo la città scoprendone i luoghi chiave: la basilica, il faro (il secondo più alto d'Italia), la Chiesa di Cristo Re, le ville ottocentesche visibili dal lungomare, Torre dell'Omo Morto, Punta Ristola, il punto più a sud di Puglia, e le grotte presenti in località Tre Porte.
