The Minister of Gender, Labour, and Social Development, Betty Amongi has officially declared her candidacy for the Lira City Woman Member of Parliament seat in the upcoming 2026 general elections.
Amongi has now officially relocated her polling station from Oyam South to Senior Quarters A in Lira City, setting the stage for a high-stakes contest against the incumbent, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, the nation's Minister of Health.
