The Morning Ride I Quit My Job For

If you’ve ever watched a midweek ride on YouTube and thought:
“Must be nice… but that’s not real life” – this one is for you.

In this video I take you on a Wednesday morning ride near Cape Town and talk about why I actually quit my corporate job after 13 years of living by someone else’s calendar.
Not in a “quit your 9–5 and move to the beach” way – but in a real, messy, honest way: money, pressure, freedom, dad life and why time ownership became more important to me than any job title.

This ride became a symbol for that shift:
from sprinting home for calls → to pulling my friend a coffee after the ride, because no one can tell me how I’m “supposed” to spend my morning anymore.

I’m not here to tell you what to do with your career.
I just want to give you a few thoughts to check whether you’re living by your clock – or only by someone else’s.
