The Optima Digital 1200 Battery Charger does much more than just charge a battery. Most chargers, you have to manually set the charge rate, and it will cook your battery if you don't monitor it. The Optima Digital 1200 actually handles the process for you and shifts into a Maintain (trickle) mode to keep from overcharging and overheating your battery.
