Points
-Joseph is Rachel's son , who is Jacob's favourite wife. She had a problem giving birth and gave birth to Joseph at a late age when they were almost giving up on having children.
-He had a dream where his family was bowing before him which made his brothers jealous and they decided to sell him to the Ishmaelites,who are his half uncles.
-As God is blessings you with that which you prayed for more people will keep on betraying you even those close to you.
-But even as you are there in the darkness
Remember your place in God and hold on to him.
-Joseph did not hold the betrayal of his brothers to his heart but kept on Holding on to the Lord.
-This gave him favour even as he was in Portipha's house.
-Joseph was put in a place of authority even after he was sent to prison because of the grace and favour of the Lord.
-He was put in charge of the other inmates like the cup bearer and the bread maker of the king.
-God gave him the gift of interpreting dreams which helped him interpret their dreams.
-The dreams came to pass just as Joseph said they would and the cup bearer went back to serving the king.
-The cup bearer forgot him when he went back to the Palace of the King for 2 yrs.
-While Joseph was in the prison cell the Lord helped him develop his wisdom and leadership skill which would be important in his later stages of life.
-He had humility even after God elevated him to the food manager position of the land.This was shown as he did not take out his Anger on his brothers but instead forgave them for all that they did to him.
-Throughout his journey from the pit to the prison cell to the Palace he remained faithful to God and did not let the troubles of life bring him down and discourage him, he did not let his new found position as a way for vengeance as well and he trusted in the Lord the whole way.
-Trust in the Lord always and let him direct your steps.
