Painting Cloth - Digital Art for Beginners

Learning how to draw or paint cloth, fabric, or clothing is one of the most requested tutorials I've been asked to make. I decided to tackle this topic first with a quick and comprehensive guide to the basic nature and behavior of fabric. I'm doing this in photoshop but the techniques in this tutorial can work in Krita, Procreate, Clip Studio, and any other digital art program.
Cloth bends and waves like liquid so it's understandable why so many artists have trouble drawing clothing or fabrics. Hopefully I've done a good enough job to getting you started on your journey to drawing fabric. I plan on making many more deep dives and examples of painting fabric in other styles and for other purposes in the future so be sure to leave a comment if you have something in particular you're looking for.
