Ne "La morte trionfata", Alfonso di Nola descrive il lutto come insieme di pratiche sociali e processi psichici suscitati dalla morte della persona cara. In passato, la sua dimensione sociale – espressa in un sistema complesso di gesti e lacrime condivise, codici definiti e pratiche rituali – permetteva al singolo di manifestare il dolore con il supporto della comunità. Stuporosa del giovane coreografo Francesco Marilungo, parte da una riflessione sul lutto e sulla privazione della sua dimensione comunitaria.
L’aspetto culturale e relazionale è ciò che le cinque figure in scena evocano, alla ricerca di una ritualità fatta di forme di mutuo soccorso, antiche formule magiche, danze tradizionali. Mettendo in luce allo stesso tempo uno scarto temporale sottolineato dall’aspetto ottocentesco delle performer che indossano dei costumi tradizionali. Qui il pianto assume varie sfumature, ora trattenuto, ora soffocato, ora trasformato in musica o in canto che ricalca le sonorità di un antico lamento funebre salentino. La musica, composta da Vera Di Lecce (cantante e producer che la sera stessa proporrà il suo live nella zona esterna del Teatro India) indaga i meccanismi ossessivi della ripetizione per entrare in connessione con le figure scena, guidandole e facendosi guidare.

Francesco Marilungo frequenta l’Atelier di Teatrodanza presso la Scuola d’Arte Drammatica Paolo Grassi di Milano, dopo essersi formato in Ingegneria termo-meccanica. Prosegue la sua formazione come performer seguendo il percorso IFA – Inteatro. Negli anni, lavora come performer per diversə artistə tra cui Enzo Cosimi, Antonio Marras, Jonathan Burrows/Matteo Fargion e Alessandro Sciarroni. Parallelamente all’attività di danzatore intraprende un proprio percorso autoriale. Attento al rigore compositivo di matrice RTC (Real Time Composition), ricorre al corpo per indagare le figure del perturbante e al desiderio interdetto. Presenta i suoi lavori a Danae Festival e Inteatro Festival e vince alcuni bandi, tra cui NEXT della Regione Lombardia. Il suo ultimo lavoro, Party Girl, vincitore del premio Prospettiva Danza 2020 e di Cross Award 2020, viene selezionato per la Nid– New Italian Dance Platform 2021.

In "La morte trionfata" (Death Defeated), anthropologist Alfonso di Nola described grief as the set of social practices and psychic processes resulting from the death of a loved one. In the past, grief was a social experience as it implied a complex system of shared gestures and tears, well-defined codes and rituals; this system allowed the individual to express grief with the support of the community. Stuporosa, a work by the young choreographer Francesco Marilungo, starts from grief and the deprivation of its community dimension.
The five characters on stage evoke cultural and relational elements as they search for a rituality made of mutual-aid forms, ancient spells, traditional dances. At the same time a temporal friction is created by the nineteenth-century dresses worn by the performers. Here crying can be held back, suffocated, transformed into music or singing, shaped on the sound of an ancient funeral lament from Salento. The music composed by Vera Di Lecce explores repetition’s obsessive mechanisms in order to create a connection with the performers on stage, to inspire them and be inspired by them.

Francesco Marilungo is a thermo mechanical engineer who currently attends the Theatre Dance Atelier of the Paolo Grassi Drama School in Milan. As a performer, he trains following the IFA – Inteatro path and has worked for several artists as Enzo Cosimi, Antonio Marras, Jonathan Burrows/Matteo Fargion and Alessandro Sciarroni. As an author, he focuses on rigorous composition inspired by RTC (Real Time Composition) and on the uncanny through the body and forbidden desires. He presented his works at Danae Festival and Inteatro Festival, and he won such selections as NEXT (Lombardia Region). His latest work Party Girl, that gained him the Prospettiva Danza Award 2020 and the Cross Award 2020, has been selected for Nid – New Italian Dance Platform 2021.
