People Celebrate Birth of Rome with Classic Parade

People celebrated the Birth of Rome with classic parade on Sunday, representing the brilliance of the great ancient Roman Empire.

The city of Rome turned 2,769 years old Thursday after its legendary founding by Romulus in 753 BC.

More than 1,500 people from Italy and other European countries participated in the event. They were costumed in soldiers, gladiators, senators, flamines and common residents to parade in the downtown area after gathering at the Circus Maximus.

"The army group we stage is from the time under the rule of ancient Roman Emperor Tiberius," said a participant.

Soldiers marched in same taps guided by the bugle, chanting the slogans of the ancient Roman army group in Latin, along the ancient Roman ruins of the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Venice Square.

"It's amazing. Now I can feel how it looked like in the ancient ages. It's really nice," said a Polish tourist.

"The city of Rome was founded on April 21 in 753 BC. We are proud to celebrate the day every year," said Andrea Buccolini, man responsible for the Public Relations of Roman History Group. More on: http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20160425...
