This short film cronicles the pub culture of late 1950s and early 1960s in the North West town of Stockport. The starting point was always the White Lion of Underbank and followed up Hillgate to Wellington Road & Buxton Road. Ending up, if you ever made it, past all 30 odd pubs, at the Rising Sun, Hazel Grove. Many of these pubs have now gone but my recollections of these places will always stay with me. Each one a different clientele, different atmosphere and different beers. In a time before multi station 24 hour TV and microwave dinners, people actually went out to make there own entertainment. These are my memories of those times.
