ELIZABETH, NJ - A raging five-alarm fire destroyed several homes on Smith Street, fire companies from multiple towns in Union County towns responded to the scene to assist in bringing the raging blaze under control. around 25 people have been displaced. The red cross is on scene assisting the residents affected.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
No serious injuries were reported.
