Developed by Eclipse Software and published by XSIV Games in 1995/2000

Re-release of the quintessential DOS PC shoot 'em up from 1995, with a revised engine and additional fifth episode! The game is still the best DOS PC shooter of all time, thanks to brilliant visuals, a superb soundtrack, not to mention the awesome upgrade system.

I longplayed the game once before using a Roland SoundCanvas sound-font bank, which gave a pretty decent approximation of how the SC-55 sounded, but it wasn't perfect. The new recording uses Roland's official SC-55 VSTI plugin (effectively a real SoundCanvas in software), and there's a noticeable improvement in how the musical arrangements sound.

For those interested, the video was captured using Dxtory recording DosBox, with MIDI set to Win32 (routed to the SC-55 plugin).
