👶 How to Use an AED on a Child | CPR & Defibrillator Guide
Early defibrillation can save a child’s life during sudden cardiac arrest.

🚨 Steps to Follow:
✓ Ensure the area is safe
✓ Check for response – tap and shout
✓ If not breathing normally, call 999 or 112 and get an AED
✓ Give 5 rescue breaths, then 30 chest compressions
✓ Continue with 30 compressions and 2 breaths until the AED arrives

⚡ Using the AED:
✓ Turn it on and follow voice prompts
✓ Use child mode or paediatric pads if available
✓ If not, use adult pads – one on the chest, one on the back
✓ Do not touch the child while the AED analyses the heart
✓ If shock advised, make sure no one is touching the child and press the shock button (or the AED will deliver the shock automatically if it's a fully automatic model)

❤️ After the Shock:
✓ Resume CPR immediately
✓ Follow the AED instructions
✓ Only stop if the child starts breathing, help arrives, or you're told to stop
