About Interior DesignHer
Hey there! This is Douglas Robb, and I am happy to welcome you to the Interior DesignHer Youtube channel.
I created Interior DesignHer as a way for solo & small-team interior designers to improve the business-side of their interior design business.
After selling my online & IRL fitness businesses, I was hired [100% nepotism] by my wife Nicole Robb to work on the back-end (operations, staffing, marketing, etc) of her Toronto-based residential interior design firm - Robb and Company - https://www.robbandcompany.com/
To be honest, I think she felt sorry for me. After selling my fitness businesses, I was in need of a new challenge. While I am 100% clueless about interior design, I have always admired Nicole's ability to help me (and her clients) see her vision for a space and...to be completely honest, it's the most fun I have had in business in a long time :)
In addition to helping improve the back end of Robb & Co, I spent months speaking with solo & small-team residential interior designers across North America [online & IRL] about what they love, hate & struggle with in their businesses.
After all this chit-chat, I was 1000% convinced that the vast majority of solo & small-team residential interior designers struggle with the same exact problem....the business-side of their interior design business. And the reason for that struggle is their education...or lack of education...of how to imagine, launch, improve & scale a successful interior design business. Interior Design business schools do a great job teaching design, but a poor job teaching business.
And that's why we started Interior DesignHer - https://www.interiordesignher.com/
This Youtube channel is part of our mission to help designers build better businesses and enjoy the process.
