How It's Made: The Key Steps

Planning and Earthworks: The process begins with surveying, grading, and clearing the route. Heavy machinery then excavates the topsoil and shapes the subgrade (the natural soil foundation). Proper compaction here is critical, as it is the base for everything above.

The Sub-Base Layer: A thick layer of crushed stone or gravel is spread and compacted. This layer provides structural support, distributes traffic loads, and allows for drainage, preventing water from softening the subgrade.
