In conjunction with 8TV's 16th anniversary, I'll going to make an evolution of 8TV's news opening montages' evolution from 2004 to the present day.
According to New Straits Times' newspaper archives. 8TV's news programme started off as Chuanmei Toushi (传媒透视)(Mandarin Chinese) and Twentyhundred (originally in English, later changed to Malay in late 2004.) in their early years of broadcasting. In 2006, both news programmes were changed to 8TV News, which used in both languages (which include the "华语新闻" (Mandarin News) text for Mandarin Chinese version). In late 2000s, 8TV News in Malay were ending its broadcast, leaving only the Mandarin Chinese version as the main primetime news programme. Additional midday newscast has been launched as "午间新闻" (Midday Mandarin News) in 2011, in competition with RTM tv2's Mandarin newscast "Berita Mandarin".
Unfortunately, I couldn't find the opening montage (or any video footage) for Twentyhundred, due to the lack of presence on Youtube. Very sorry for your inconvenience.
Anyway, enjoy the video! Feel free to like if you've enjoyed it.
