God revealed himself to humanity.
The sum total of all that God revealed to us is called the deposit of faith.
Essentially, the deposit of faith describes the teachings that God entrusted to the Church through Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition.
Think of a deposit we make in a bank account. God deposited his revelation into the world.
There are two sources of this singular deposit of faith:
1. Sacred Scripture (the Bible)
2. Sacred Tradition (the Church)
The teaching office of the Church, which we call the Magisterium, protects the deposit of faith by interpreting Scripture and Tradition in every generation.
