FAREWELL TOUR 2025 – RUSSELL MORRIS
(2nd last show) Anita’s Theatre, Thirroul
6th September 2025.
I first met Russell in 1968 at the Trocadero in Sydney, after being introduced by Ian Meldrum (before he was “Molly”). Since then I’ve been to as many of Russell’s shows as I possibly could, especially in the later years — so of course I was going to be there at the end. Anita’s hosted back-to-back shows, and I attended both.
Apologies for the recording quality — the camera drifts in and out of focus (despite the person in front of me staying surprisingly still most of the night). But if you simply want to relive this amazing event, I hope you’ll understand.
My only real disappointment was the absence of guitarist Pete Robinson. As we know, he’s been an integral part of the Russell Morris band for two decades. I understand he was also committed to the final tour of his other band, Electric Mary, but I still can’t help wishing he could have been there for at least part of this farewell run.
