Legends // Paul Harragon: Old Boys Day, career retrospect and leadership

On the final episode of the season for KNIGHTS // HQ, we're going out with a bang with one of the Club's all-time greats calling in to the studio.

Paul 'The Chief' Harragon joined the boys for a special edition of our Legends chat series.

Ahead of the traditional 'Once a Knight Old Boys Day' this Sunday against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, Harragon spoke about the importance of the day and the brotherhood formed by past players.

'The Chief' made his debut for the Knights as a youngster in the Club's inaugural campaign in 1988.

The local junior would go onto become the first captain to raise the premiership trophy for Newcastle after the famous 1997 Grand Final.

A heroic figure in Club history, Paul also represented his state and country in a career for the ages.

We kicked off the episode with some quick-fire questions for 'The Chief' including his most underrated teammate and some stories from the Footy Show days.

Paul reminisced on his career at the Knights from the 1992 team which first qualified for the finals to some familiar and untold stories in the lead up to the 1997 Grand Final.

The boys also talked about leadership and how Paul approached the game, plus life away from footy.

With the current NRL and NRLW side enjoying terrific form runs, we also got Harragon's view on the 2023 season ahead of the final regular season home game.
